Cell Phones.....Brain Storming !!!

Ever imagined whats happening inside your head, when you talk for hours or even minutes over the cell phone?
People say life is short , so live it..... But who is making it short ?
We boast saying that i speak to my girlfriend/boyfriend for hours. Is it some kind of achievement? Well to get all your answers... have a look at these images....
Put two cellular phones facing each other, and an egg between them . From one cell, call the other and let the call run for approximate 65 minutes continuously.

So what happens then is a real shock to everyone.
In about 25 minutes, you will notice that the egg becomes hot, after 45 minutes starts boiling, and after 65 minutes is ready to eat.

So friends...Have you ever imagined what happening to our brain?

The next time you talk over the phone, remember ..
A Bheja Fry is just a few minutes away !!!

Late Sitting ? Don't !!!

Have u ever thought of doing over time and earning a few extra bucks ? Young blood and new employ always have this attitude. Why not work extra and earn extra ? This happened very often in Infosys.Seeing this state of the company , Mr.Narayana Murthy decided to send a mail to all the staff members.

The mail goes like this :

It's half past 8 in the office but the lights are still on... PCs still running, coffee machines still buzzing... And who's at work? Most of them ??? Take a closer look...
All or most specimens are ?? Something male species of the human race...
Look closer... again all or most of them are bachelors...
And why are they sitting late? Working hard? No way!!! Any guesses??? Let's ask one of them... Here's what he says... 'What's there 2 do after going home...Here we get to surf, AC, phone, food, coffee that is why I am working late...Importantly no bossssssss!!!!!!!!!!!'
This is the scene in most research centers and software companies and other off-shore offices.
Bachelors 'Time-passing' during late hours in the office just bcoz they say they've nothing else to do... Now what r the consequences...
'Working' (for the record only) late hours soon becomes part of the institute or company culture.
With bosses more than eager to provide support to those 'working' late in the form of taxi vouchers, food vouchers and of course good feedback, (oh, he's a hard worker... goes home only to change..!!). They aren't helping things too...
To hell with bosses who don't understand the difference between 'sitting' late and 'working' late!!!
Very soon, the boss start expecting all employees to put in extra working hours.
So, My dear Bachelors let me tell you, life changes when u get married and start having a family... office is no longer a priority, family is... and That's when the problem starts... b'coz u start having commitments at home too.
For your boss, the earlier 'hardworking' guy suddenly seems to become a 'early leaver' even if u leave an hour after regular time... after doing the same amount of work.
People leaving on time after doing their tasks for the day are labelled as work-shirkers...
Girls who thankfully always (its changing nowadays... though) leave on time are labelled as 'not up to it'. All the while, the bachelors pat their own backs and carry on 'working' not realizing that they r spoiling the work culture at their own place and never realize that they would have to regret at one point of time.
So what's the moral of the story?? * Very clear, LEAVE ON TIME!!! * Never put in extra time ' unless really needed ' * Don't stay back unnecessarily and spoil your company work culture which will in turn cause inconvenience to you and your colleagues.
There are hundred other things to do in the evening..
Learn music...
Learn a foreign language...
Try a sport... TT, cricket.........
Importantly, get a girl friend or boy friend, take him/her around town...
* And for heaven's sake, net cafe rates have dropped to an all-time low (plus, no fire-walls) and try cooking for a change.
Take a tip from the Smirnoff ad: *'Life's calling, where are you??'*
Please pass on this message to all those colleagues and please do it before leaving time, don't stay back till midnight to forward this!!!
IT'S A TYPICAL INDIAN MENTALITY THAT WORKING FOR LONG HOURS MEANS VERY HARD WORKING & 100% COMMITMENT ETC.
PEOPLE WHO REGULARLY SIT LATE IN THE OFFICE DON'T KNOW TO MANAGE THEIR TIME. SIMPLE !
Regards, NARAYAN MURTHY.

So friends , next time you sit in the office for extra hours, remember - "The world is calling you .... Where are you ??? "

Think smart, Work Smart, Rest Smart

Once there was a group of men - a young hot-blooded guy and a big number of old folks, doing timber job in a jungle.
This young chap is very hard working. He always continues to work through his break time and complains that those old folks were wasting time, having to break few times a day to drink and chat.

As times goes by, this young guy noticed that even though he worked thru' break time and hardly took a rest… those old folks are chopping the same amount of trees as he did and sometimes did more than he did. It was as if those old folks work thru' the break time as he did. So he decided to work harder the next day…unfortunately the results were even worse.
One day, one of the old folk invited him for a drink during their break time. That young guy refused and said he has no extra time to spend! Then the old man smiled to him and said It was just a waste of effort to keep chopping trees without re-sharpening your knife. Sooner or later you will give up or be so exhausted as you have spent too much energy.
Suddenly the young man realized that actually during break times while those old folks were having a chat, they were also re-sharpening their knife at the same time! And that's how they can chop faster than him and yet spending lesser time!

The old man said what we need is efficiency by making use of our skill and ability intelligently. Only then can we have more times to do other things.
Otherwise you will always keep saying … I have no time!
Morale of the story:

By taking a short break during work, it would make you feel fresher, think well and work better after the break! (Or am I just finding excuse to take a break). But by taking a break, it is not to stop work but to rest and re-think our strategy to go about it from another angle.

Heels....Difficult to Heal !!!

Ever wondered what would be the outcome if u are hit by someone's heels. No no , not the actual, biological and physical heels,I mean the informal word which means a woman's sandals.
Its strange that women run on their heels and every time they make a quick movement with their feet , they tend to fall face down.
Doctors say , the more the usage of the heels , the higher the risk of getting a weak back.
Ever imagined why tall women are more stronger and steadier than shorter women.Well yeah, you have got it right. They do not use heels. He he. Ok now lets get serious.
This is not a biology class or any practical session. But one needs to be aware of the basics of our body parts so that we can take better care of them.
Here's a picture which would describe various parts of our legs and their relation with the heels.
Take a Look :

Day-Night Together !!!

THIS PHOTO IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

BE SURE TOREAD THE TEXT BELOW TO HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT YOU ARE VIEWING. IT IS HISTORIC TOO AS THISIS THE LAST MISSION FOR COLUMBIA .

  • The photograph attached was taken by the crew on board the Columbia during its last mission, on a cloudless day.
  • The picture is of Europe and Africa when the sun is setting. Half of the picture is in night. The bright dots you see are the cities' lights.
  • The top part of Africa is the Sahara Desert . Note that the lights are already on in Holland , Paris , and Barcelona, and that's it's still daylight in Dublin , London , Lisbon , and Madrid .
  • The sun is still shining on the Strait of Gibraltar .
  • The Mediterranean Sea isalready in darkness.
  • In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean you can see the Azores Islands;
  • below them to the right are the Madeira Islands ;
  • a bit below are the Canary Islands;
  • and further South, close to the farthest western point of Africa , are the Cape Verde Islands. Note that the Sahara is huge and can be seen clearly both during day time and night time.
  • To the left, on top, is Greenland , totally frozen.

A FingerNail Test !!!

Have you seen recent advertisement of M/S SAINT GOBAIN GLASSES shown on TVs ? Then you must be aware of the 2 Way mirror.
Not to scare you, but to make sure that you are aware. Many of theHotels and Textile showrooms cheat the customers this way & watch privately.

HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR?

When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc.,how many of us know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror i.e.,theycan see you, but you can 't see them. There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms or bathroom or bedrooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by justlooking at it. So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at?

CONDUCT THIS SIMPLE TEST:Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of yournail, then BEWARE, IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR! (There is someone seeing you from the other side). So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the "fingernail test."

Best Illusion Created !!!

Illusions create gr8 confusions and misunderstandings among humans.

Your girlfriend from far might look like your wife and Your boss might look like your best friend.

Jokes apart friends. Illusions are really misguiding people and create misunderstandings.

Here s an illusion that was regarded as the best illusion ever created.

If you watch the above images from your seat in frontof the computer, Mr.Angry is on the left, and Mrs.Calmis on the right.

Get up from your seat, and move back 12 feet, and PRESTO!! They switch places!!

I believe this illusion was created by PhillippeG.Schyns and Aude Oliva of the Univ. of Glasgow.

This proves that we may not be seeing what's actuallythere, all the time!!

ONE BEDROOM FLAT... & One Extra ...

Friends...
Read this true story and many of us would have or would be in similar situation....
The story begins......
As the dream of most parents I had acquired a degree in Software Engineer and joined a company based in USA, the land of braves and opportunity. When I arrived in the USA, it was as if a dream had come true. Here at last I was in the placewhere I want to be. I decided I would be staying in this country for about five years in which time I would have earned enough money to settle down in India.
My father was a government employee and after his retirement, the only asset he could acquire was a decent one bedroom flat. I wanted to do some thing more than him. I started feeling homesick and lonely as the time passed. I used to call home and speak to my parents every week using cheap international phone cards.
Two years passed, two years of Burgers at McDonald's and pizzas and discos and 2 years watching the foreign exchange rate getting happy whenever the Rupee value went down. Finally I decided to get married. Told my parents that I have only 10 days of holidays and everything must be done within these 10 days. I got my ticket booked in the cheapest flight. Was jubilant and was actually enjoying shopping for gifts for all my friends back home.
If I missanyone then there will be talks. After reaching home I spent home one week going through all the photographs of girls and as the time was getting shorter I was forced to select one candidate. In-laws told me, to my surprise, that I would have to get married in 2-3 days, as I will not get anymore holidays.
After the marriage, it was time to return to USA, after giving some money to my parents and telling the neighbors to look after them, we returned to USA. My wife enjoyed this country for about two months and then she started feeling lonely. The frequency of calling India increased to twice in a week sometimes 3 times a week. Our savings started diminishing. After two more years we started to have kids. Two lovely kids, a boy and a girl, were gifted to us by the almighty.
Every time I spoke to my parents, they asked me to come to India so that they can see their grand-children. Every year I decide to go to India. But part work part monetary conditions prevented it. Years went by and visiting India was a distant dream. Then suddenly one day I got a message that my parents were seriously sick. I tried but I couldn't get any holidays and thus could not go to India.
The next message I got was my parents had passed away and as there was no one to do the last rights the society members had done whatever they could. I was depressed. My parents had passed away without seeing their grand children.
After couple more years passed away, much to my children's dislike and my wife's joy we returned to India to settle down. I started to look for a suitable property, but to my dismay my savings were short and the property priceshad gone up during all these years. I had to return to the USA. My wife refused to come back with me and my children refused to stay in India. My 2 children and I returned to USA after promising my wife I would be back for good after two years.
Time passed by, my daughter decided to get married to an American and my son was happy living in USA. I decided that had enough and wound-up every thing and returned to India. I had just enough money to buy a decent 2-bedroom flat in a well-developed locality. Now I am 60 years old and theonly time I go out of the flat is for the routine visit to the nearby temple. My faithful wife has also left me and gone to the holy abode.
Sometimes I wondered was it worth all this? My father, even after staying in India, had a house to his name and I too have the same nothing more. I lost my parents and children for just ONE EXTRA BEDROOM. Looking out from the window I see a lot of children dancing. This damned cable TV has spoiled our new generation and these children are losing their values and culture because of it. I get occasional cards from my children asking I am alright. Well at least they remember me.
Now perhaps after I die it will be the neighbors again who will be performing my last rights, God Bless them. But the question still remains 'was all this worth it?'

ADD WARS !!!

We have noticed from decades that competitors can go to any extent in terms of advertising. Its said that a simple creative add is much better than an add worth millions. The add wars were famous among pepsi and coca cola.. But now the war has spread to many other fields.

Every comapany is trying to pull down its competitor through advertisements.

Whats the worth in giving out such adds?

Are the companies being unethical.?

This is 22nd century my friends and everything is fair in Love :O and WAR.....

The ADD WARS continues...........

IF TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME !!!

A man was killed in a local train accident some months ago. He was very well liked, so the office shut down for her funeral and it was on the news and so on. On the day the workers came back to work, they found this poem from one of his collections of poems that the deceased man had written sitting in the office.
"If tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible,
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all that we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss some tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
and since each day is the same way,
There's no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart "

This poem really brought some change in me and i hope it has touched your hearts too....Remember......
"There is no right time to do the wrong thing.....there is no wrong time to tell someone you care."

Exercise Reverses Aging at Cell Level !!!

Every day, it seems, there's a new study espousing the benefits of exercise. Exercise helps you lose weight. Exercise makes you smarter. Exercise cures cancer. What's next?

Exercise makes you immortal? Well, not quite. But a new study has found that exercise actually reverses the aging process at the cellular level. The study, published this week in the online journal PLoS One, studied 25 people over 65 for six months.

At the beginning of the study, they took biopsies of their thigh muscles. Then they put the group on a strength-training regiment that included two hour-long sessions in the gym per week. At the end of the six months, they were biopsied again. The muscle cells were compared to cells of a group of young people (average age 22).

At the beginning of the study, the older people's cells were significantly different genetically from the younger people's. But at the end of six months, a third of the genes within the cells had undergone significant changes. The cells that changed were involved in the functioning of mitochondria, which process nutrients into energy. And sure enough, study participants reported having more energy.

"The genetic fingerprint [of the elderly participants] was reversed to that of younger people — not entirely, but enough to say that their genetic profile was more like that of young people than old people," said Simon Melov, director of genomics at the Buck Institute in Novato, Calif. We've heard it before, but we'll let Mr. Melov say it again.

"It's never too late to start exercising."
